COS AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The 2023 February ARRL School Club Roundup took place the entire week of February 13-17th with the Communion of Saints Amateur Radio club operating, after school.

ARRL School Club Roundup is an amateur radio contest for individuals, clubs and schools. It is specifically designed to encourage elementary, middle, junior high, high schools and college students to get on the air and compete for points.

In their first contest appearance, our Communion of Saints Amateur Radio Club placed second nationally in the Elementary School category and nearly won it. We handily defeated a six time elementary school category champion, outscored nearly 2/3 of all the other contest participants and even did better than several universities including LSU, Florida, Case Western, Alabama and even Ohio State.

We are all very proud of their performance and can’t wait to see what they can accomplish next. For those of you who aren’t members yet, there’s still time to get radioactive. The COS Amateur Radio club meets after school every Fridays in the 3rd floor library through May 26th.

Stop by, check us out and see how far our signal travels. You’ll be glad you did.
